Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and houseplants, along with soil, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries usually grow part of their own stock and carry varieties suited to the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Plant shops focus on houseplants, succulents and orchids, often with repotting help. Greenhouses and growers sell seedlings and bedding plants in spring, and many offer wholesale prices to landscapers. Landscape designers plan planting beds, patios and irrigation, and some garden centers offer design and installation services as well.

Phoenix is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. Getting around Phoenix is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Arizona's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is THE PLACE for all trees, plants, bamboo and flowers etc that are not native here! In other words if you want your yard to look completely different than everyone else then shop here. Bring your money, I always leave with more than my little crappy honda odyssey can handle! Wonderful staff with advise too!

Stopped in for the first time today and was very happy with our experience. Kim helped with a few suggestions on what would do well in our pots, and we walked out with a variety of cool plants and flowers. I would recommend visiting this nursery if you’re looking for healthy plants and a great experience.

This place is amazing! My MIL loves guava and I had difficulty finding Ruby Supreme Guavas because they're so popular. Found it here and they have a wide selection of fruit trees and everyone is super helpful! I would highly recommend visiting to get your forever plant 🤗

Shamus and his team are always happy to help answer our questions. They are the only nursery in Phoenix that I’ve seen carry Spanish Lime/Mamoncillo/Anoncillo. Many tropical trees to pick from. Guavas, Mangos, Sapote, you name it. There is also a Facebook page where the community helps each other out. Always a wonderful experience dropping by the nursery.

Green Life is ‘interesting’—the proprietor boasts have several hundred cultivars of different plants and upon arrival and viewing, you realize it’s simply false advertising—this is especially true with plumeria where on social media they boast they have several hundred and on site I saw perhaps 100 at best. Staffing is adequate but more interested in sales than educating the consumer. Is this because Shamus is only interested in the bottom line or is he simply not interested in return happy customers? Hmmmmm… Another issue… No public bathroom! Okay, you drive to your destination and your kidneys are calling and the employees tell you to go to the worm farm next door! Come on! How cheap and lazy can a business be—especially when their hand is outreached for your money… Sad—very sad! The nursery has some beautiful specimen plants and a huge selection of exotic fruit trees, most of which require huge amounts of water and not the best for growing in the arid desert climate. IMO, if you’re in the vicinity, it may be worth checking out but I personally would not make a special trip.
